In your quest for universal music their is a sound that transcends time. At that legendary crossroad intersecting the musical past, present and future you will find the music that your soul has been seeking. Standing out from the tepid background of much of today’s current music, the sound of Seek crosses the lines of traditional music genres as they fuse classic sounds with the latest cutting-edge musical nuances.
The Atlanta based sextet Seek’s new album weaves soulful, thought provoking lyrics with jazz inspired grooves laced with a bit of dance floor element. Freddy Luster (producer/guitarist) says, “Musically we just tried to stay true to ourselves and our influences which are pretty diverse, from Sade to the Isley Brothers, from Carole King to Everything But The Girl, from Seal to Jamiroquai. What I like about those artists is that they all have a unique ability to weave through musical genres and stand alone in their own box. I think music like that makes great impact on the musical landscape.”
Seek formed in 1999 at the legenday Ying Yang Music CafĂ© in Atlanta, following in the footsteps of friend and contemporary Indie Arie is ready to take their place in that landscape. “Journey Into Day,” the third album from Seek, will move your feet and stir your soul.
“I can tell that Seek’s music comes from the heart. They use production ethics that hark back to the great soul bands of the 70’s without sounding retro.”
– Stuart Mathewman, SADE/Sweetback
